Tesla Recalls Almost 1.1 Million Vehicles Over Windows
According to a US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration filing, Tesla Inc. has issued a recall for nearly 1.1 million vehicles.
This is covering all four of its models because the power windows may close too quickly and pinch a driver or passengers.
The electric vehicle manufacturer intends to resolve the issue via an over-the-air update, eliminating the need for vehicle owners to wait for service.
The Tesla recall applies to Model S, X, 3, and Y vehicles manufactured between 2017 and 2022, according to the NHTSA filing dated Sept. 19 & released Thursday.
According to the NHTSA, the window reversal system, which detects difficulties and stops shuttering, may not react quickly enough when an object is detected.
According to the filing, the windows could shut with undue force.
