Tesla Recalls Almost 1.1 Million Vehicles Over Windows Software Glitch

Tesla Recalls 2022: According to a US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration filing, Tesla Inc. has issued a recall for nearly 1.1 million vehicles covering all four of its models because the power windows may close too quickly and pinch a driver or passengers.

The electric vehicle manufacturer intends to resolve the issue via an over-the-air update, eliminating the need for vehicle owners to wait for service. The recall applies to Model S, X, 3, and Y vehicles manufactured between 2017 and 2022, according to the NHTSA filing dated Sept. 19 & released Thursday.

According to the NHTSA, the window reversal system, which detects difficulties and stops shuttering, may not react quickly enough when an object is detected. According to the filing, the windows could shut with undue force.

Tesla Recalls 2022 Details:

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the vehicles failed to meet the requirements of a federal motor vehicle safety standard on power windows.

Tesla stated that it was unaware of any warranty claims, field reports, crashes, injuries, or deaths associated with its tesla recall 2022.

Tesla determined that the vehicles’ pinch detection and retraction performance in the test results did not meet the requirements of automatic reversal systems after extensive additional testing.

Tesla said that beginning September 13, vehicles in production and pre-delivery received a software update that conforms power-operated window operation to the requirements.
