Deadpool in MCU
Disney previously stated that Deadpool would be integrated into the MCU, but it was unsure when the character would receive a standalone film or where he would fit in the wider scope of the Multiverse.
Deadpool is one of the many comic book properties acquired by Disney when it purchased 20th Century Fox in 2019. The X-Men as well as the Fantastic Four are also likely to appear in films in the coming years.
Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool films are a Hollywood rarity. Both “Deadpool” and “Deadpool 2” were rated R and grossed over $780 million worldwide. That’s most likely why Disney agreed to let “Deadpool 3” be rated R, despite the fact that the majority of the MCU’s movies are rated PG-13 or lower.
